Gather your Stories and come to our spring  workshops at Taborspace beginning Feb 10. Sessions include in-class free writing and time to share out-of-class writing projects. Write from prompts from classic memoirs, and folklore and read stories you are currently writing to receive feedback in a safe and encouraging environment where you will draw inspiration and craft-secrets from other writers. While these sessions are focused on memoir writing  we are open to writers who weave in memories through other genres.

No writing experience necessary for our workshops and we welcome all levels. Attendance is on a per session basis.

To register:  call (503) 281-6499 or email meberle@vignettesverses.com.

Since I Have a Hammer

hands-on poetry workshops for poets & artists

Hammer poetry into wood, stitch it into fibers, write words in the dirt with a stick... This is a workshop geared toward both poets who would like to experiment with material practices and visual artists who use language in their work, and who would like to attend to the poetics of that language. In each workshop, we will first discuss the language-based art of one artist (Arthur Bispo do Rosário; Julie Patton; Cecilia Vicuña), followed by hands-on poetry & art making, and then a feedback session

Each workshop was on a Saturday, 10AM to 1 pm, in Kaia Sand's studio (Brooklyn neighborhood, Southeast Portland)
